The main attraction of the national forest at Mrugavani is the wide variety of fauna that inhabits the 700 acres forest area. Wild boar, Cheetal, Jungle Cat, Mongoose, Civet Cat, Sambhar, Monitor Lizard, Cobra, Python, Russell Viper are amongst the animals that can be seen by the tourists visiting the forest. One can also catch sight of foxes and black-necked hare. The forest is also a great destination for bird-watchers as the trees here give shelter to a variety of birds, both local ones as well as migratory birds that fly from almost halfway across the world to find shelter during the cold winters. Some of the commonly seen birds are peacocks, warblers, flower peckers, and lapwings. In all, there are over 100 species of birds in the confines of the forest. However, it is not only the multifarious wildlife that makes Mrugavani National Park so interesting. The trees found here constitute a great part of its attraction. A large variety of flowering plants can be seen as one walks through the forest area. Valuable trees are also quite a few in numbers. Bamboo, Picus, Teak, Rela, Sandal, and Palas, can be found here. The park also houses a museum of natural history and has a fairly impressive collection. The entry fee is approximately 5 INR per person and a ride on the Safari bus can cost about 50 INR which runs from 9 am to 5 pm.
