Travel Tips

  • Select a bike with long mileage and large fuel tank.
  • Don’t overlook a single safety rules of biking.
  • Check the brakes, head lights, indicator lamp, and etc. at first.
  • Full your fluid tank. Carry extra fuel if possible.
  • The Rudimentary puncture repair kit is a must during the trip. Don’t go with the advice of not carrying.
  • Wear reflection resistance sunglasses.
  • Wear gloves, riding jacket, knee guards, elbow guards, helmet and comfortable clothes depending on the temperature.
  • Make a group and a leader and a sweeper. Leader will lead and sweeper will be the last rider in the group.
  • Carry the emergency numbers of the people around the region and if possible go through a medical check up to confirm the fitness and any unknown allergic reactions.
  • Make a proper biking plan and take few minutes rest at some of the points during the journey.
  • Carry your own luggage composed of essential articles only. Tie them in the proper way with the motorcycle.

Sikkim is the land of the adventure populations. Starting from trekking, mountaineering, hiking, mountain biking, river rafting, paragliding all are present to boost the tourist’s experience during their visit. This land of Kanchendzonga is offering exquisite delicacies to the tourists visiting the state of north-east India. Sikkim with capital Gangtok, is sitting proudly between Bhutan on east, Nepal on west and Tibet’s autonomous region on north. West Bengal is on the southern part of this state. High number of domestic and international travellers are visiting this land to have a glimpse of the proud queen Kanchendzonga.

The best adventure sport among the lot is mountain biking in Sikkim. The blunt soils along with dramatic terrain makes a lucrative eyeful is the gift of the adventure loving community. Equipments

Biking is incomplete without the main biking gears. Biking shoes, waterproof gloves, waterproof jacket, bike helmet, waterproof bag, water bottle, first aid kit, sunglasses, insect repellents, sunscreen lotions, moisturiser, repairing and maintenance kit with equipment are essential items need to be carried during the bike trips.

How to Reach

  • Bagdogra Airport of West Bengal from Sikkim which is 124 kilometre away. There are daily domestic flights connecting this airport from New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. The Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation has launched helicopter service from Bagdogra to state capital Gangtok.
  • New Jalpaiguriand Siliguri stations of West Bengal are the nearest railway stations. They are 125 kilometre and 114 kilometre away respectively. Shared taxis, autos and buses are available from outside the stations.
  • India National Highway 31A is the connection between Gangtok and Siliguri. This highway can be travelled through the bank of mighty river Teesta, lush greenery and valley of wild flowers. Buses, taxis, jeeps are available 24 hours at a legitimate rate. All other attractions of Sikkim can be reached from Siliguri also.

 
Surrounding Attractions

All the four district are boasted with several popular tourist places which can’t be completed within a single visit. In the East district, there are Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple, Aritar Lake, Bakthang Waterfall, Ban Jhakri Fall, Enchey Monastery, DodrulChoten, Ganesh Tok, Tsmgo Lake, Tashi View Point. Nathula Pass is one of the main interest of this part. In the west district, Khechepalri Lake, TashdingMonastry, Pelling, Yuksam, Varsey, Rabdentse ruins, SangaCholiMonastry, Rinchengpong, Kaluk, Uttorey are present for the delight of the visitors.

In north district, PhodongMonastry, Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthung, Lachung, Lachen, Thangu are equally beautiful to attract the eyes of the travellers. Temi Tea Garden, Namchi, Ravangla, Samdruptse, Borong, Menam Hill are welcoming the visitors at south Sikkim. The helicopter service is present to boost the platter of the visitors by taking them to the ride to show Kanchendzonga peak, Mount Siniolchu. It provides the bird’s eye view of the valley and the town also.

Archery, river rafting, Yak ride, rock climbing are other attractions which are keeping the adventurous enthusiasts busy.
