A dip from the high zone and a feeling like a bird is all we experience during the para-gliding. This is a new sport which is gaining fast popularity for its sheer level of audacity. Para-gliding is available in the Kullu valley near Bilaspur, BundlaDhar, Bir-billing in Kangra, and Intkali in Pabbar valley.


Wear comfortable clothes. Allow yourself to learn proper knowledge about the paragliding. Know all the alleys and avenues. Clear out all the questions. Have a good preparation and check the equipment by your own to avoid any unwanted danger. Follow the rules of paragliding. If possible, take a good course of paragliding.

Glider, harness, helmet, reserve parachute, variometer are the basic important equipment for paragliding. Three main points of a successful paragliding experience consists of safe launching, turning and landing. Always check the harness which will keep you attached in a firm way with the paraglider.

How to Reach

  • New Delhi airport is the closest international airport. There is an airport at Bhuntar which is 50kms away from Manali. Daily domestic flights are connecting New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chandigarh with Manali. Taxis are the option to take you at your destination outside the airport. Private charter planes are available for Manali.
  • The Kalka railway station is the point near to Manali connecting the place with New Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai and other metro cities of India. There is a narrow gauge track in Manali going up to Jogindernagar.
  • Himachal is well connected with the capital city of India, New Delhi which is 552kms only. Chandigarh is 350kms away only. The Himachal Government is building roads to give the best travelling experience all around the state. Several state highways are in touch with National Highway 21. There are Volvo and other bus services available from Chandigarh, New Delhi and Dehradun.

Surrounding Attractions

This place is densely populated by the attractions. High voltage valleys are attracting the travellers for uncountable years. Most of them starts from either Shimla or Manali. Shimla is thickly covered by oak, pine and rhododendron forests. The flowers are making the valley colourful during the season of blossom. The age old colonial charm left by the British Raj during their stay is present in the atmosphere of the city even now. Surrounding areas like Leh, Ladakh, Manali, Kullu, Spiti, Kasauli, Kangra, Chamba and Dalhousie are equally famous because of their lusty presence within the lap of abundant nature. The moody rivers flowing down from the upper region are creating the soulful songs which stays even after many years. One can’t control their lust to visit Rohtang Pass which is popular because of the high volume of ice present there.
