The land of Brahmaputra, Assam is popular among the adventure loving population because of its soulful offerings in adventure sports. Large number of rivers other than Brahmaputra and Barak have criss-crossed the valley by making this a land of streams. This eastern state of India with capital Dispur is highly composed of different ethnic groups and their rich heritage culture. Assam is known for its aromatic tea also. A type of silk produced largely in Assam is a unique way of developing clothes for centuries. One horned rhinos are keeping abuzz the sound of this area which received a jolted come back from near extinction. Tigers, Asian elephants, large number of bird’s species and animals can be found this highly biodiversity state of India. All the rivers are enriched with large number of fishes which can be found in here only.

JioBhoroli, Subansiri, Manas, Kopili are the best rivers to enjoy the task of angling in the world. JioBhoroli is the residential place of Golden Mahseer fish which is fierce in nature. They are compared with the tiger because of their ferocious nature. Angling contest is being organised every year where domestic as well as non-domestic people can take a part. Angling is popular because Assam receives a large amount of rainfall which creates ponds, lakes and streams in the valley. Most favoured spot for angling in Assam is the confluences of hill streams. The small creeks from the high zones meeting with the main river are the best place for getting the fishes. The daring angler can a raft at the point of the confluence where they can find the dense population of different type of fishes. Mooral, Goonch, Indian trout, Chocolate Mahseer are some of the other species can be found easily during the expedition.

For angling and fishing, the basic items required are barbed metal hook, Dacron or lylon line, spoons, reel, rods. Food for as the bait to fish.

  • Saloni is the nearby domestic airport which is connected by flights from Kolkata only. Nearest international airport is situated at Guwahati which is 180km away.
  • Trains of Indian railway are connecting this city on regular basis. Dekargaon railway station is the closest railway station to reach the city.
  • Public buses and private transportation like hired cars, jeeps are available from Dispur, Guwahati. Tourist vehicles can be hired at Bhalukpong also.

Assam has two world renowned forest known for its preserving of the near extinct one horned Rhino. Manas and Kaziranga are the two famous spots for the forest loving tourists. High number of animals made their kingdom at this part of the earth along with several species of birds. Another famous spot is Bhalukpong River for angling sport. Bhalukpong town is nearby too. Local tourist attractions of Tezpur include Bhairabi temple, Hanuman mandir, Ketakeshwardewal, Mahabhairab temple, Garhdoularcheological site and etc. Eco tourism is at its best in Tezpur. Nature lovers will have an exquisite feeling during their visit due to this sheer level of offerings.
