Mypadu is a popular village in Indukurupeta Mandal of Andhra PradeshIndia. The village is located at around 25 kilometers from Nellore City. The main attraction here is the beach which is a tourist hot spot as well as serving as a perfect holiday and weekend destination for the locals. The beach is unique owing to its long, uninterrupted stretch of greenery which is maintained by the state tourism board, APTDC. The beach ensures fishing opportunities for the local fishermen, as well as providing cruises for tourists who want to indulge in a little bit of adventure.

Private and government-run buses function to Mypadu from Chennai and Hyderabad. This is the best mode of transport apart from auto rickshaws which also ply, but not as regularly.

Things to do

Indulge in water sports at the Mypadu beach. Jet skiing is one of the popular water sports in the region. Although the charge is fixed at around Rs. 250 per person for a three to four minute ride, people are still willing to opt for it, as a result there is a considerable demand for jet skiing.

The best way to get around is either by private or state buses or auto rickshaws.

How to Reach

  • The nearest airport with connectivity to India is Chennai (Madras) located around 177 kilometers south of Nellore on NH5. The Tirupati airport is also nearby at 130 kilometers south-west; however, the Tirupati airport is situated closer to Hyderabad, Vishakapatnam and other cities in Andhra Pradesh.
  • In order to reach Mypadu by train, it takes 3 hrs by train from Chennai and around 10 hrs from Hyderabad.
  • By car A four lane highway connects Nellore to Chennai. It usually takes around 2.5 hours to reach Nellore from the outskirts of Chennai. By Bus There are numerous buses that connect Nellore from Chennai and Hyderabad. All APSRTC buses to Hyderabad and Chennai function from the RTC bus stand. There are a number of private luxury buses services which ply to Hyderabad and Chennai from the Railway station.

Surrounding Attractions

Kodur Beach is located around 18 km away from city. There are buses/autos available from Atmakur Bus Stand. Velangani Maatha Church is proximate to the sea shore.

Temples of interest in the area include Jonnavada/Narasimhaswamy Temple, Ramalingeswara Temple in Nellore as well as other temples in towns across Nellore district.

Ranganatha Temple: A famous temple close to River Pennar

Narasimha Swamy Temple is located just 15 km away from the city. It is located on an elevation which provides a good view of the surrounding city.
