Aguada is the perfect place for tourists who are looking for sand, sea and surf for a relaxing vacation. Aguada differs from the other beaches in Goa because of the many historical attractions it has located within its vicinity. The beaches are the prime attraction among tourists.

The fort is currently being used as a jail; however, it has witnessed its fair share of battles in the past some of which have directly affected the current condition of the fort. The famous tower bell has been installed in the Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception and stands testimony to the history of the fort. The fort has been well-preserved through centuries and received its name from a spring which was used to replenish the fresh water in the area. The famous lighthouse is another attraction (built in 1864) and has provided great service to the fort. Tourists are allowed entry into the lighthouse to enjoy the panoramic view.

Travel Tips
